This innovative lighting device employs the concept of a string telephone to connect strangers through two pairs of booths in an engaging and interactive manner. It transmits sounds from the audience via a tube, while Apple’s emoji technology and DMX-programmed lighting effects enhance the overall experience. Our team was responsible for concept development, lighting design, sponsorship and fund management, engineering and structural design, production management, and on-site maintenance. The project faced several challenges, including the high complexity of the design, extreme weather conditions, technical difficulties in setting up the interactive devices, and limited funding. Despite these obstacles, the installation received coverage from four media outlets and successfully collaborated with a charity focused on autism.
